Music Experience 
Music Experience was founded in 2003 by
Rebecca Henders, offering lessons in various musical
instruments to students in the Chicagoland area in
their homes. I am now moving my business and myself to the Minneapolis
area to pursue a Masters of Education from the University of Minnesota.
Although I will now be focusing solely on piano instruction, the goal of Music
Experience will remain the same, to create a positive learning environment for
students of any age interested in learning to play the piano. I believe that
music lessons should be about more than leaning to play an instrument. I
believe that learning the arts gives students of any age to a chance to develop
self confidence, an opportunity to discover what they are good at and enjoy,
and to escape, and relax, skills that are valuable in all areas of life.
Students learn to think in a different way, to create, and of course, to play
an instrument. We personalize the
lessons by choosing music based on the student’s interests and personal tastes,
and do supplemental activities such as games and coloring to reinforce what we
have been learning and to make lesson time more enjoyable. I want all of my students to enjoy
playing, and learning to play the piano and to find the time that we have spent
together valuable. By holding the lessons in the home, students are comfortable
and better able to feel safe, open, and comfortable to create.
